Programs
The Annual Giveaway brings joy each winter to some 2,600 children on the Reservation, many of whom would otherwise receive nothing for the holidays. Each child receives new toys, books, warm clothes and personal care products. We also supply dozens of Tribal programs and schools with equipment, supplies, coats, shoes and educational materials.
Annual Holiday Giveaway
Our Helping Hands program developed because of the housing crisis which the Tribal Chairman calls “the Tribe’s most urgent need.” Each summer, our volunteers spend two weeks repairing homes and teaching skills to tribal members. Our Ramps Program with Tribal military veterans has provided over 65 accessibility ramps to disabled families, Elders and veterans in just two years.
Helping Hands
hawkwing administrates the Tribal food pantry to address extreme food insecurity. Also known as a “food desert,” this is an area where affordable and nutritious food is difficult to obtain. When school is closed (weekends, summers, holidays), many children go hungry. We collect non-perishable food locally and purchase from the Feeding South Dakota monthly.

The Cherry Creek Youth Center is one of hawkwing's most exciting projects! We are working together with the tribe to facilitate a safe place for children and teens to go and enjoy themselves while participating in safe activities with a healthy adult monitor. We are hoping to replicate this project in other communities around CRST.
